Acuity Balancing

Distributes Phase 3 patients to minimize variance in total acuity weight per nurse. Enter SARA (H+S+T+V) and Epic scores on the same census — Run produces both boards. Continuity, device, and 1:1 rooms are optional and are not redistributed. OPEN beds auto-score as the pod average of occupied beds with a usable score (SARA 1:1s count as 7).

Acuity reference — H + S + T + V (total out of 7)

Hardware (H) — Ventilators, central lines, and tubes. Score 0 if none are present, 1 if one or two are present, and 2 if three or more are present.
Social (S) — Family dynamics, ethical conflicts, and behavioral complexity. Score 0 for stable, 1 for moderate, and 2 for high-intensity.
Titration (T) — Actively titrated drips. When a nurse is adjusting pressors or sedation every fifteen minutes, they are physically tethered to that room. Score 0 for none, 1 for stable drips, and 2 for active/multiple drips (>5) requiring frequent adjustment.
Travel (V) — Anticipated off-unit transport or a planned bedside procedure that keeps the nurse tied to that patient. Score 0 if neither is expected, 1 if either is.

Topological Efficiency

Minimizes total walk distance per nurse by pairing patients with the smallest room gap.

STEEZ Distribution

Balances STEEZ equally across pods, then layers leadership placement over the result.

Organize and export the lunch schedule for front and back sections

Lunch Organizer

Populate from current staffing or enter staff manually. Front = Pods A & D, Back = Pods B & C. Auto-Generate assigns preferred times; same-section slot conflicts go to the higher BSF score. Check CSN Coverage to let two nurses in the same area share a slot — the CSN cannot cover Front and Back at the same time. Coverage unlocks when a CSN is designated in Upcoming Staffing or marked csn on the Op Arm roster.
